The mare had been broken in during the last winter. The quarry is called Castle Quarry, and the stones are for the highway. He wias talking the mare to the Castle farm to quarry stones. Mrs Mary Anne Jones said: The body which the jury have just seen is that of my husband. If the in- formation which had been conveyed to him were correct, they would have no difficulty in coming to the conclusion that the deceased met his death by accident. In opening the inquest, the Coroner said that the deceased appeared to have met his death on Tuesday morning W11e1\ carting stones from the Castle Quarry. The Judge:: I have nothing to do with the last time. Williams: I leave it to your Honour-although he paid on committment I last time. The Judge: Will you have it adjourned? Mr J. Then the Judge remarked He says he is suffering from lum- bago and is unalble to appear. He said that it was a medical certi- Icate to the effect that the defendant was differing from lumbago. The Judge then read from a paper before him. The officer of the court, by order of the Judge, called the defendant three times to answer his subpoena. He has not paid in any of these cases apparently. The Judge (looking over the records): rhere are a few eases against him. ![]() ![]() Defendant was well-to- 10: he was in practice. He understood that the defendant had paid in another case, in which Mr Walton Bishop liad appeared immediately a committal was made against him. Be would ask for a, committal in this case. Williams said that he had sub- poenaed the defendant to appear that day. Defendant was called, and did not appear. John, who was stated to be a solicitor practising at Ammanford. Williams- appeared in a case which Messrs Newton, and Co. Tlie County Court was held at the Shire Hall, Llandilo, on Thursday, the 4th inst., before His Honour Judge Bishop.
